A little bit about me!
I thought as i've been catching up on a few #marchmeetthemaker posts - #story #you & #lovetomake that I'd pop a little blog post up too!
My name is Morven Anne Robertson. I'm an artist/illustrator based in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Although you'll often find me in the beautiful Scottish Borders in Kelso. I produce unique Scottish artwork, often with a Gothic inspired/folktale & fairytale edge.
I completed my Foundation Studies in Art and Design at Leeds College of Art & Design and graduated with a 1st Class Honours in Multimedia Technology from Leeds Becket University in 2007, specialising in Image Manipulation and Video Graphics.
I love to make anything that inspires me really! Painting makes me happy & when I am down it makes my world a little brighter. I hope that my art also brightens up my clients’ days too!
I am inspired by the Scottish landscape & wilderness & the beautiful wildlife we have all around us. I am a huge music fan & I have to say I am very inspired by music. I’ll be sharing some separate posts around music & art soon!
Currently I’m inspired by the beauty of Spring, new birth and resurrection at Eastertime. However I also love to paint more edgier items - anything from Scottish folktales, fairytales and Gothic tales.
I love the Pre Raphaelites and the Glasgow Boys art. More modern artists include the amazing work of Vincent Marcone.
I produce original artwork, limited edition prints, greeting cards & homeware/accessories & I’m looking to develop further my range now I have more time to focus on my art. I currently sell online via my website & Etsy. I run various pop up shops & would love to run my own shop. I have some exciting news about stocking in Edinburgh & Glasgow soon, so watch this space!
